Classics for All seeks Administrator

About the job
Classics for All is a small national charity founded in 2010 to reverse the decline in the teaching of Classics in state schools. Classics for All has supported 850 schools so far to teach Classics, reaching 50,000 pupils, and aims to reach 1,000 schools within the next two years. Demand from schools to offer Classical subjects has increased fivefold since the charity began in 2010.
You’ll be joining our charity as we scale up our operations, and you’ll be responsible for general administration including work on events, finance, fundraising and data input. It’s an excellent opportunity for a self-starter to be part of a young and pioneering organisation committed to raising the aspirations of state school pupils. The charity has expanded its staff this year following increased demand from schools; we require increased administration and fundraising activity to support this.
We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude who can co-ordinate and manage a variety of responsibilities. You must have excellent communication, organisational, writing, numeracy and people skills: the job requires accurate record-keeping, processing payments, communicating with our donors and supporters and being first point of contact for the organisation on the phone, email and at events.
As administrator you’ll be based in our office, located within the King’s College London Strand campus (within the Classics department), five days a week. Part of your role will be managing events so you’ll be expected to work up to seven evenings during the year.
Full time role, five days per week with some flexibility in hours.
Salary basis £20,500 with 5% employer pension contribution.
Closing date: Completed applications should be returned to us before 12 noon on Wednesday 24 October 2019.
Interview Schedule: Classics for All will contact shortlisted candidates by Monday 28 October to arrange interviews on Wednesday 30 October.
