Classical Civilisation and Ancient History

Teaching Classical civilisation for the first time? Bring the experts into your classroom! The following resources provide accessible introductions to various topics in Classical civilisation. They are intended as a starting point for a general audience, and will be valuable to GCSE and A-level pupils. They will stimulate discussion, and teachers can construct activities around them, such as asking students to summarise the videos’ content as a factsheet.

For a more general introduction to the different options available for teaching Classical Civilisation, please see our guide to setting up Classics.

(Don’t forget to join Classics Library if you haven’t already: it is a treasury of useful resources for teachers new to Classics. A username and password will be needed, but registration is free. OCR and AQA also produce support booklets which include recommended resources.)
