Our Networks

To meet growing demand, we have set up regional networks to support the development of classics in schools. These are largely based in universities or colleges and offer training, mentoring, events and opportunities to share ideas.

Our regional networks are happy to offer you advice on how to get started with classics in your school or will put you in touch with other local schools that have already started their classics journey.

East Midlands

Network Coordinator: Dr Jane Ainsworth, [email protected]

Jane Ainsworth is the East Midlands Regional Network Co-ordinator and a trainer for Classics for All. She taught Classics in secondary schools for 12 years, serving as a teacher-representative on a national council for Classics teachers and subject committees, organising two ARLT Refresher Days and co-writing the IB Classical Greek and Roman Studies course. While completing her PhD on Herakles in ancient Sicily, she developed the KS2 and KS3 Life in the Roman World teaching resources and since then has created the Schools' Resources for Roman Inscriptions of Britain Online, work which is now informing the proposed new Roman Britain Ancient History specifications. Jane is the Classics Tutor for the University of Leicester's History with Classics PGCE.
